Chanced upon this hidden gem on the quieter stretch of Chinatown hawker centre. The lady boss was very friendly and patient. As I wanted a simple lunch for 1, ordered the fried liver with ginger and spring onion. I have a very high standard for liver and thus surpassed my expectations. Liver was tender with lots of ginger spring onions & most importantly wokhey overloads 🔥🔥 Did I mention the quality of the rice 🍚? very nice quality rice competes a perfect meal. Definitely coming back for a proper dinner! Almost want to keep This place a secret. Update :17/07/2025 Came for dinner: Ordered fish belly with bittergourd Wokhey super good & plentiful fish belly. A little pricey $30 Spinach with eggs duo ( salted/century) Very homey taste $8 Repeat stir fried liver with spring onions Ginger - still best quality fresh & at perfect doneness $10

The steamed fish (豆酱鱼) was perfectly cooked, the spring onion pork liver was incredibly flavourful and tender, and the oyster omelette (forgot to take photo) was a true delight. Every dish was simply yummy! The auntie running the stall is such a gem; her friendliness always makes the visit even better. This stall is truly a hidden gem in Chinatown, and I find myself coming back here all the time. Honestly, I almost didn't want to write this review because I'm worried it'll make my waiting time longer! But seriously, if you're in the area, you have to check this place out. You won't regret it!

Great value for money Zi char dishes. The dishes we ordered weren’t too salty or oily. Total bill amounted to $42 only for 4 pax with 4 dishes and 4 rice, which was a very reasonable amount. Tofu dish was delicious and it was the major highlight and must order dish. Pig liver was cooked to the right amount of doneness, not overcooked and topped with generous amount of spring onion and sliced ginger. Har Cheong wings were rather normal. Bitter gourd with fried fish was nice with generous amount of bitter gourd, not too salty. Overall very happy and we will be back for more. Not the first visit already.

We read about this hawker stall that has a speciality of deep fried soon hock fish. Restaurant quality and lots of positive reviews. So had to try. Only my wife and I so could only order two dishes. The smallest soon hock they had today and their home made tofu fried with broccoli and dried scallops. And a bowl of rice. The tofu came first and it was excellent. Rich egg taste, perfectly fried and the sauce was a good complement. I added a bit of fresh red chilli to mine and it was perfect. We finished the dish even before the fish came. The deep fried soon hock was also excellent. It could have been a bit more crispy but really that's a minor quibble. We ate up every scrap and used our fingers to take apart the head to get at the meat. Super fresh and if we were greedy, we could easily have eaten a much bigger fish! See the pictures. Fish was $33, tofu was $9. Much cheaper than at a restaurant. Of course, we're at a hawker centre with no air-conditioning but with two fans above us so not too hot. We had a nice table in the corner and there was a lot of character around us. Overall, a very good lunch. We'll definitely come back and bring friends so we can try more of the menu!

My favourite hawker stall super hero rock star entrepreneur couple who are so busy between 18–20 preparing all the order queue with efficiency you cannot see elsewhere. I usually take black pepper beef, but tried also deep fried fish. Both are so nice!!! At the stalls close by nice beers available. Keep up the good work. I bet you do. ❤️

Huat Huat 80 小厨 is a hidden gem which serves delicious and affordable zichar dishes starting from below $10 just a few mins walk from Chinatown MRT. My friend highly recommended their Homemade Bean Curd & Coffee pork ribs and these dishes were indeed well executed and did not disappoint. Great wokhei and flavourful. Special mention to the tender pork ribs which were perfectly marinated. Can't wait to try other dishes! This is a great find among the many zichar stores at Chinatown Complex. Definitely worth a try! Great service from hawker and glad to share they serve the dishes based on sequence of order and NOT based on same dish for different customers during my visit. Dropby to enjoy some delicious zichar without breaking the bank today!

This is one of the less busy zhi char stall in Smith Street Chinatown food centre next to our favorite satay stall. So today, we decided to give Huat Huat Restaurant a try. The dishes are on par with most of the zhi char stalls in the food centre. We like the home made tofu with brocoli very much. The tofu is tasty and the texture is nice. The stir fried beef is savoury and the sauce goes well with rice. However, the beef slices are a little too chewy. The spinach with three types of eggs is flavourful and enjoyable. The oyster egg omelette is nice with plump oysters but the omelette is a little too thin. Ordering is fast and easy at the counter. Food was served quickly.

Ordered four dishes from this stall (fried fish, eggplant, yam ring and pig liver), all were really good! Fried fish was super crispy and savoury, pig liver slices had a nice bouncy texture. Honestly better than a lot of restaurants. The lady was also very nice. Good food + good service = guaranteed revisits :-)

You know you're in for a good time when you sit down, look around, and realise you're surrounded by people who are probably regulars (always a good sign). Super hearty zichar - we got the salted fish fried rice, fish head curry, prawn paste chicken (forgot to take a pic oops), and sambal sweet potato leaves (ran out of kangkong). We started off quite hungry but left crazy full, probably didn't need to order that much for 2pax 🤣. Massive portions and good ratios of everything in each dish. Honestly the table was silent the entire time because we were busy eating. All at a good price too! The auntie was also very nice, super efficient, just wanted us to enjoy the food. Would definitely bring more people next time so we can order more stuff 🤤
