Job Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring client's vital signs and serving of oral and topical medications and oral feeding as applicable.
- Assist in basic physiological monitoring of patients.
- Assist clients in meeting their ADL needs in the centre (e.g. toileting, feeding, changing)
- Perform planned nursing interventions and assist trained nurse in medical emergency or crisis situations.
- To provide high standard of care for the general comfort and well-being of the clients
- To conduct daily maintenance therapy exercises in adherence to the Occupational Therapist’s/ Physiotherapist's recommendations
- To initiate, plan and conduct activities or programmes for clients according to their functional/ cognitive abilities daily
- Participate in emergency response and/or crisis management plans
- Recognise unresponsiveness, activate emergency medical services and provide quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Adhere to organisation's infection control and prevention processes
- Assist in continuous improvement and patient safety processes within own work areas
- Adhere to service delivery standards and policies that have been set out by the department and organisation
- Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures by following safe work practices, workplace emergency response procedures and risk control and participating in WSH management activities
- Maintain inventories and equipment for the department
- Cover kitchen duties when required
- Any other relevant/appropriate duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- ITE Skills Certificate in Healthcare, WSQ Higher Certificate /Advanced Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care), HMI Certificate in Healthcare support(Nursing) or Nursing Degree in native country with Professional Regulatory Certification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Able to stand for extended periods of time
- Able to assist in ADLs including feeding, diaper changing, toileting and transferring for clients with difficulty in performing those tasks
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and able to communicate in dialects with non-English/Mandarin speaking clients
- Passion to work with seniors and people with dementia
- Strong team player, resourceful and systematic
- Work schedule comprises of a 5-day work week, subject to operational requirements
