Chang Ji Cooked Food is a beloved BBQ seafood stall at Chinatown Complex that has built a strong reputation for their expertly grilled seafood dishes. Their signature Sambal Stingray is particularly popular, featuring tender, fresh stingray served with a generous helping of flavorful sambal chilli paste and cincalok sauce. The friendly uncle and auntie who run this stall take great care in preparing each dish, ensuring the seafood remains moist and perfectly cooked. Besides stingray, they offer a variety of BBQ items including prawns, lala, sotong, and vegetables. Open from 5pm to 11:30pm (closed Tuesdays), expect a wait of about 30 minutes during peak hours due to their popularity among both locals and tourists seeking authentic Singaporean hawker fare.
Attracted by the old school set up of the stall. The two aunties were friendly. Unfortunately, the BBQ stringray was a little tough/dry while the sambal tasted one dimensional (sweet and no spiciness). Kailan was fresh and generous in portion for only $3.

Very hardworking and friendly auntie! Stingray and squid are very fresh too 👍🏻👍🏻 prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Usually i’ll order the spicy version, but today i wasnt in the mood to have spicy food. To my surprise, the non spicy one was just as good!!! The charred flavor goes well with the non spicy sauce on the stingray! Am i the only one who thinks their rice is fluffy?

The stingray is fresh and cooked to perfection (I can't stand dried stingray!), and the chili complements it perfectly.
