Key Responsibilities
1. General Ledger Operations
- Handle full spectrum of GL accounting for multiple hotel entities
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, adjustments)
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trail for all GL transactions
2. Month-End & Year-End Closing
- Support timely month-end and year-end closing processes
- Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data across all assigned hotels
3. Financial Reporting
- Assist in preparation of financial reports and schedules for multiple hotels
- Ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting in accordance with accounting standards and company policies
- Provide variance analysis and explanations where required
4. Intercompany & Consolidation Support
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and ensure balances are aligned
- Support consolidation processes where applicable
- Resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
5. Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Support audit requirements by preparing necessary documentation and responding to queries
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
6. Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve GL processes and efficiency
- Support implementation of finance systems and automation initiatives
- Maintain data integrity within accounting systems
7. Reporting Line & Stakeholder Support
- Report directly to the Shared Services Director of Finance
- Work closely with hotel finance teams and other shared services functions (AR/AP)
- Provide support and clarification on GL-related matters to stakeholders
Key Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Experience in General Ledger accounting; hospitality experience is an advantage
- Ability to handle multiple entities in a shared services environment
- Strong understanding of month-end closing and reconciliations
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel
