Reporting to the Finance Manager and in his/her absence to the General Manager. Will deputize the Finance Manager in the event of his/her absence. To manage the daily accounting function ensuring timely and accurate input for the reporting timelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To ensure the timely preparation and presentation of Financial Reports. These Financial Reports consist of monthly,yearly financial reports and statements, write-ups, trend of operations, annual budget, cash flow, outlook and business plan.
- To ensure that all the relevant licences and permits for the hotel operations are applied for and updated accordingly.
- Be responsible for the safe keeping of all contracts, leases, legal documents and financial records.
- Coordinate and prepare Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet financial statements and bank reconciliation report on a monthly basis, adhering to the timelines of the Hotel and Corporate Office.
- Coordinate and supervise compliance to Accounting checklist.
- Coordinate and prepare Profit & Loss forecast of financial performance (outlook) on a monthly basis, for the following month.
- Participate in the preparation of yearly budgets and manning.
- Assist in monitoring the Hotel’s compliance to Corporate and internal Policies & Procedures and to implement / review Policies & Procedures when necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of Taxation Returns.
- Assist the Director of Finance in theperformance of their duties.
- Analysis of cashier over and shorts with General Cashier.
- Monitor the timely and accurate performance of the accounts receivable function.
- Monitor and investigate the input of bank statement data.
- Review of accounts payable monthly inventory reconciliations.
- Review of accounts payable purchases journal.
- Prepare all month-end General Ledger journals.
- Complete all taxation and statistical requirements.
- Review and monitor Night Audit and Income Audit functions.
- Participate in the preparation of the Strategic Business and Operating Plans.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time.
SKILLS &QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma in Accounting / Finance Management or related fields
- At least 1-2years’ relevant experience at a Managerial level, preferably in Hotel /Hospitality
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills
- Meticulous and has an eye for details
- Proficient in systems and Microsoft Office applications
